Factory Space looks good, but any movie with Ben Affleck has to be questioned. My cats litterbox doesnt contain as many turds as that guys resume.

Sandra Bullock in another romantic comedy, at least she sticks to what she is good at; Bradley Cooper also stars and anyone that dumps Jennifer Aniston after one date is all right in my book.

This is coming out in the theater I kid you not.  Looks like a straight to DVD Running man rip off. Got to hand it to Gerrard Butler for cashing in on his new found fame. There better be a Richard Dawson cameo!

Halloween II

Starring: Sheri Moon Zombie,Chase Wright Vanek, Tyler Mane, Scout Taylor-Compton, Brad Dourif and Malcolm McDowell

Director: Rob Zombie

Genre: Horror

Rated: R

Halloween II is the sequel to Rob Zombies interpretation of the Michael Mysers Legend.

While the first Halloween from Rob Zombie takes its cues from John Carpenter just extremely amped up; The second one is 100% Rob Zombies vision.

All the visionary elements of Zombies style are here the great lighting, the gritty realism and the strangely macabre visuals. Halloween II follows Lorie Stroud as she tries to pick up the pieces of her young life while dealing with the bad dreams that haunt her. At the same time Michael Myers is heading her way and killing everyone in his path.

What sets Zombies Halloween apart from the others is the gritty realism and sheer brutality of his Michael Myers, Zombies version of Myers doesn’t just quickly slash with a knife and go on his way to the next victim, this Myers will slash you and then stab you twenty more times to make sure the job is done.

Halloween II visually reminded me of Zombies House of 1000 corpses. With different camera techniques utilized as well as a combination of interior claustrophobia juxtaposed against the moody atmosphere of an empty field on a moonlit night. Zombie puts on the screen what he finds scary and for the most part he is right. The hardcore Fans will flock to this version while the average person who catches the occasional horror film will not enjoy this nearly as much.

Overall Halloween 2  is trippy as hell with these crazy dream sequences,  the scene where myers boot stomps a dude till his face is unrecognizable is pretty awesome. Could have done without the Rocky Horror picture show costume. Chicks with Sideburns = not sexy. Also really glad that topless girls are thrown in for no reason at all at the Halloween party.

GRADE

For Me – 82

For America – 72

A fourth Final Destination this time in 3D reeks of gimmick. Woodstock reeks of Nostalgia and The second installment of Rob Zombies Halloween reeks of Awesomeness.

Entertaining drama set in the 80′s marketed as a Comedy. Those expecting the laughs due to the campaign of “from the director of Superbad” will find it disappointing. Enjoyable movie if you don’t expect to laugh to much.

Inglourious Basterds
Starring: Brad Pitt, Melanie Laurent, Christoph Waltz, Eli Roth, Diane Kruger, Daniel Bruhl
Director: Quinton Tarantino
Genre: War, Action, Drama
Rated: R

In Nazi occupied France a group of Jewish American soldiers brutalize and scalp Nazis to strike fear in the Third Reich.

Inglourious Basterds is the latest film from Writer/Director Quinton Tarantino. This is a Tarantino fantasy so if you are looking for a factual account of World War II it’s best to look elsewhere; If you are open to his spin on what would happen if a group of Jewish soldiers banded together to assault the Nazis, then this is your film.

In typical Tarantino fashion this is not a straight forward film it is broken up into chapters with each chapter focusing on a different group of people with all of them leading to the final chapter where all parties intersect.

There is an extensive use of subtitles as a lot of the dialog is in both French and German, even in the subtitles the beauty of Tarantino’s dialog comes shining through.

The real standout of the film is Christoph Walz as Colonel Hands Landa the “Jew Hunter” Walz draws the audience in from the opening scene and does not let go the entire film, If Walz is not nominated for an academy award he will have been robbed.

Brad Pitt delivers a hilarious performance as Aldo Raine the head of the Basterds who demands 100 Nazi scalps from each of his men due to his Apache roots. Aldo’s Accent is particularly amusing when he is speaking Italian.

I was quite surprised by the amount of Violence in the film, I actually thought there would be more. Overall the Basterds is one of the best films of the year with fantastic performances excellent dialog and story and an unconventional style that could only be from QT; who else stages a shootout in a claustrophobic basement?? Although not based in fact as the tag line says it all “Once upon a time in Nazi occupied France” This is the World War II fairy tale I have been waiting my entire life for.
