Fired UP!

Starring:

Nicholas D’Agosto, Eric Christian Olsen, Sarah Roemer, Dannel Harris, Nicole Tubiola

Genre: Comedy

Rated: PG-13

Two high school football stars Shawn (Nicholas D’Agosto) and Nick (Eric Christian Olsen) are best friends who want to get out of summer football camp and hook up with girls from other schools, the solution to their problem is of course Cheer Camp.

There is a saying repeated throughout this film. “You have to risk it, for the biscuit”. Unfortunately there is nothing risky about this film, there are zero chances taken. The film is neither edgy nor original. The dialogue is laughable, with more than enough made up words to compensate for swearing as to not get it an R rating. The Film is filled with clichés the football players are stupid meatheads who just want to party, and the football coach is a loud hothead, The Cheerleader camp covers all the bases as well. We have the lesbian cheerleader; the men on the cheer team are of course gay. The head cheer teacher has a hot wife named Diora (Molly Simms), we have an obnoxious and stupid boyfriend who is dating the cheer captain Carly (Sarah Roemer) and of course we have the rival cheer squad.

Will Shawn be able to prove he is the right guy for Carly? Will Nick be able to hook up with Bianca? Is there an impossible cheer move known as the “Fountain of Troy”? Will there be a cheer competition?  In the Cheer competition, will the “Fountain of Troy be attempted? This move is so formulaic you already know the answers.

This is an unfortunate and completely unnecessary piece of film making.  It is beyond predictable and commits the worst sin possible in a comedy, it is simply not funny.

Or as they would cheer in the movie.

Not, Funny!…. NOT, NOT, Funny!
