Political radio host Thomas Bach finally meets a girl who can see him for who he truly is,  When he has to go to L.A for a personal matter he becomes part of the homeless community and must decide what he will do with his new found perspective.

Thomas Bach is a radio host who is about to be fast tracked to the senate when he travels out to L.A for a personal matter he is knocked unconscious, with out his memory and not able to remember that he is diabetic, Thomas quickly becomes part of the local homeless community who take in the amnesia victim. Upon recovering his memory and given a new perspective that challenges his political beliefs Thomas must decide how this will impact his political ambitions.

If you enjoy seeing a movie so bad that you talked about it more for its mistakes than for anything positive then you need to run out and see “Monday Morning”

Upon arriving in L.A, Thomas heads to Santa Monica where he soon realizes that he is about to be fleeced by a former flame. His world get’s turned upside down when he decides to be charitable and rather than have the old homeless woman be thankful for the money she was about to get, he is struck once in the head by the old lady and laid out unconscious. The homeless lady is only half bad, she leaves all his belongings and puts a blanket over him, what I like to refer to as homeless prop #267 the ratty yellow blanket soon to become Thomas’  homeless person starter kit. Thomas not only loses his memory he also loses his common sense leaving Sunny Santa Monica and life by the beach to head into  depressing cold downtown L.A (there is a storm coming to town after all). Thomas is still dressed nicely and looks nothing like a homeless person but due to his yellow blanket he is now 100% mistaken for a homeless man.

Thomas soon meets a group of homeless people that take him in and help him out, Beth (Jessica Spotts) is a mother who due  to the economic downturn decided to move with her husband and sick child to California, in hopes of securing a new job, with no luck they are forced to live on the street. The streets are tough and now Beth spends her time performing oral sex for crack. Thomas is able to eventually turn things around due to the help of Damn (Nat Christian) an alcoholic with a penchant for screaming at people.

Monday Morning is a film that lacks direction, it tries to be a very liberal leaning tale and show that homeless people are people as well and are not there due to choice. At the same time it glorifies every stereotype of homeless people, using money for alcohol, acting crazy, selling their bodies for drugs. At times the film interjects awkward slapstick moments that are completely unnecessary. The homeless don’t look homeless and for the most part would never be confused for homeless, it takes more than a dirt smudge or a yellow blanket. Top it all off with the brand new girlfriend that doesn’t want her new boyfriend to be successful and you have a tragically bad film.
