NEW YORK, NY (March 15, 2013) – On the heels of the Catholic Church appointing it’s new leader, Pope Francis may already be faced with challenging ideas on human cloning. In Christopher Walken’s latest film “The Power of Few”, he plays a now homeless ex-newscaster championing the idea that scientists are planning to clone Jesus from DNA off the Shroud of Turin.

Set on America’s roughest backstreets, this sci-fi actioner takes shape through the perspectives of it’s curious characters who unknowingly are connected to an intricate smuggling operation on a day of danger, mystery and transformation. Amid this tale of perpetual danger, one soul unexpectedly emerges to create a ripple effect that cuts across each character’s path, ultimately revealing a singular message of hope.

In a recent interview Walken explains of the cloning idea, “I always thought about it as something you accept as a way to live, and that you’re good with that.”

The film has been met with mixed critical reviews, being called everything from ‘groundbreaking’ to ‘obnoxious’, but audiences are showing interest.  After a few weeks of minor regional plays, the film expands from two to eighteen cities across the US this week.

The independent film is being platformed through Steelyard Pictures and boasts a top notch cast including Anthony Anderson, Christian Slater, Moon Bloodgood and Jesse Bradford among others.
