DEVIL IN MY RIDE – ONE HELL OF A RIDE
Devil in my ride

Stars: Frank Zieger, Joey Bicicchi, Erin Breen

Director: Gary Michael Schultz

Expounding on his short of the same name, Director Gary Michael Schultz reunites his two leading men Travis (Frank Zeiger) the brother of the Bride and Hank (Joey Bicicchi) the meek and lovelorn groom along with new cast member Erin Breen as Doreen the possessed bride.

When fast talking hedonistic Travis’ mother passed away he left town without speaking to his sister Doreen, Now that she is getting married Travis and Black Mama (his van) roll into town. When Travis gives Doreen a vintage locket and reads the inscription inside, Doreen’s becomes possessed causing her wedding reception to go to hell. What follows is a road trip with Travis,Hank and a tied up Doreen traveling from Chicago to Las Vegas in search of Johnny Priest the last man to perform a successful exorcism.

When the hero of the film rides around in a black van named Black Mama replete with a Black Mama vanity license plate and a Black mama wheel cover while simultaneously  rocking a dream catcher from the rear view mirror, its apparent that though the movie is called Devil In My Ride you are going to get equal parts comedy to horror.

Never a film to be taken seriously the charm of the film is the dialog, the banter between Hank and Travis is first rate with Travis spewing out multiple quote worthy lines. Add into the mix the great Sid Haig and you have the recipe for a cult film.

Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t the best acted, best shot, best story, best anything film., but what it does, it does well and that provide a fun experience.

Whether its feeling like a JC Penny model or the Human Hank Shield Devil In My Ride is one hell of a ride.
