Film set to bow on VOD in 100 countries simultaneously with North American theatrical release after Sundance debut
January 15, 2013 – (Los Angeles, CA) – Gravitas Ventures announced it has acquired worldwide VOD rights to Dave Grohl’s anticipated documentary, Sound City, featuring interviews with dozens of the biggest names in music, including Neil Young, Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks, Trent Reznor, Lars Ulrich, and Mick Fleetwood. Sound City tells the story of real rock n’ roll with candid interviews and new and historic performances by legendary musicians who made their careers in America’s greatest unsung recording studio: Sound City.
After its worldwide debut at the Sundance Film Festival, Sound City will bow worldwide via cable, satellite, telco, online, hotel, and airline VOD operators on February 1, 2012—eventually reaching more than one billion VOD consumers. Simultaneously, the film will be released theatrically in North American by Variance Films.
