This year already is and will be full of different genre movie premieres. The British cinema industry isn’t left aside and also presents interesting films from famous directors with well-known actors. This March David Mackenzie, one of the most famous British directors, is glad to present his latest drama movie called . The movie tells a story of a young and very rage teenager Eric, he is 19 years old and is leaving young-offenders prison to serve a sentence in the big house. This transfer in specific circles is known as starred up process. The main character will have to experience new difficulties, deal with his past, change his ideology, and what is more important, meet his father which Eric has never seen before.
The new British drama displays everything what corresponds to prison-thriller requirement and makes it complete brutal motion-picture: prison scenes, violence and bloody fights, conversations and tension between the characters.
The main character Eric is one very troubled and angry young man who has to spend his life in adult prison. He is only 19 but has seen and experienced a lot during his life. He was surrounded by bad and dangerous people; the only thing he has learned is that you have to fight to stay untouched and alive. So, spending the rest of the life in prison was very predictable thing to happen.
The governor of the building is not very happy meeting his new inmate but he feels such a pleasure by locking Eric in his cell and showing that his life is going to be very hard and dark. Now Eric is placed in his cell without knowing that in the same wing, just several cells away, his real father is serving a sentence as well.
There is one person in prison who thinks it is possible to change Eric’s life and make him a better man. Oliver, the therapist, decides to give young man a chance and asks the governor for the permission to allow Eric attending his group therapy. The governor agrees and Oliver dares himself to change Eric, show him another view of life and free him from the anger and pain he is keeping inside. At first Eric isn’t very enthusiastic about the group therapy but after a while he finds out that something inside is changing and he understands there is more than one way to interact with people and complications. Maybe this is the light at the end of the tunnel and something bright is waiting for him in the future?
The film creators managed to make very realistic picture, it seems like not only main characters but also spectators are trapped behind bars. All these sounds, background, attacks and fights, it devours. The movie hits the world cinemas from 21th of March, 2014, with the grand premiere in the Great Britain.
