FROM THE HEAD – A movie set in a strip club where ironically the head they refer to is the bathroom.
From The Head
Starring: George Griffith
Director: George Griffith

Written, Directing and Starring George Griffith, “From The Head” is a day in the life of a strip club bathroom attendant.

“Shoes” an educated man who is a bathroom attendant for a strip club is working a shift on his three year anniversary at the club. A menagerie of patrons go in and out of the restroom each discussing their evening, while Shoes hands out sage wisdom and paper towels as only a man in a bathroom who has seen it all  before can. Men and the occasional bowel challenged stripper travel in and out. Some man profess how they are falling for the wily charms of the dancers (They are not like the others), Some realize that the place is an entire façade, with every “worker” saying what needs to be said to loosen that twenty from your pocket.  All talk to the affable Shoes, who wants more from his life.

The performances are solid; there just isn’t much in the way of a story arc. This is a concept that could make for really interesting episodic television, as a movie there just isn’t enough to maintain compelling drama for an hour and a half.

While we all hope the events of the day lead Shoes out of the club, who will be there to wipe the errant hair or make sure the patrons leave glitter free and do we really care?

Grade – 68
